Font - Someone called the police because I didn't work there. L So I have one of those technician jobs where I go all over and work on point of sale machines. I often get mistaken for someone that works at the store because I'm behind the counter. Normally people are understanding but not at this store. When I arrived at this store I was greeted by the manager and owner of the store because they have been having issues with a bar code reader. The problem was there was nothing I was really able t

Font - We had been having this issue for months and as techs we were not giving any way to fix it. I had the manager and owner threatening to get me fired because I don't want to do my job (they didn't like me already because of something that my coworker told them months earlier when I was still in training) I was pretty frustrated just minutes after walking into the store. I spent about 4 hours in this store doing everything to try and fix this issue. This store has a big island in the middle

Font - and would point to the cashiers. As I'm about to wrap up for the day I notice 6 police officers come into the store and start talking to the manager. I didn't catch the whole conversation but I did hear the cop ask are you sure that everyone behind the counter is supposed to be there. The manager said yeah those are my 2 clerks and he's the tech trying to fix the problem. They were there for about 15 minutes and never said anything to me. Tldr I went to fix a broken machine, got my job th

Font - Bonus story. I was at another store and I lady came up to me and tried to have me ring her up. When I told her that I don't work there she apologized and joked about it with me. She then had the brilliant idea of me getting a shirt that says I don't work here lady.

Hell, bringing your own would fix most of your issues. Edit: guys, I get it. Customers are dumbf 5. You don't have to tell me your life story to know that. Reply Share 438

Font - PianoManGidley. 18 hr. ago What kind of dumbas calls the cops for something like this instead of just finding a manager?! Also, I'm curious to learn more about the beef that manager and employee had against you from when you were still in training. Were you just being slandered? 100 Reply Share

Font - or Znolk OP 17 hr. ago It was just the manager and store owner. I knew they didn't like me but the rest of the employees were awesome. I would actually go to that store as often as I could just to hang out with a couple of them. That being said they had a crazy daisy chain of about 5 surge protectors plugged into each other and had about 6 fridges running off of that plus some signs and some of our equipment in there. They were having issues with our equipment not working right and my cow

Font - 01 Aniline_Selenic. 14 hr. ago I have a similar position, but we aren't 3rd party. We are internal hires only that came from the retail/DC/Help Desk side of the company. Our uniform are completely different from the store-side, IT plastered all over our uniform, badge, equipment. I'll be knee deep in a POS rebuild, equipment and cables scattered around me, laptop in hand, and of course someone will want to checkout with me, even though the register next to me is open. I haven't had anyone

Font - 91 supmister 14 hr. ago . Ooof. I train baristas for other companies that use our coffee and sometimes that means I'm behind the counter with them. I don't wear a uniform and constantly get interrupted by customers ordering from me/us during training. One time I had someone call the security guard on me because I told them I don't work there, I was just setting up for our training and the barista I was training had to run to the back for something. Security guard comes around and rather t

Font - mr-louzhu 10 hr. ago Working in retail will teach you that a significant portion of the population is a) completely oblivious to their surroundings, b) oblivious to the fact that you are a human being not their personal servant, c) humorless holes.

Font - Dalton387 10 hr. ago Seems like that would be a big enough recurring issue that they'd get you a company shirt or vest that says "Repair Technician" in large letters on it.
